Spring has Sprung
A Peek Backwards...
Our August and September Courses were permeated with budding and blossoming, the taste of fresh beginnings...
and slightly warmer weather!
'Unveiling the Divine in Nature'
A weekend at Bloublommetjieskloof Biodynamic farm.
From a participant:
'Having placed so much focus on nature during the course and being surrounded by the beauty that is Bloublommetjieskloof, it became apparent that growth often stems from not knowing, but from allowing a space of emptiness to be...rather than immediately filling it with a mental conclusion or assumption. For it is only in the holding of that vulnerable space that we become quiet enough to open our hearts to the experience of the Other, be it nature, our fellow brothers and sisters, or the Divine that is not limited to, but includes the aforementioned.'
Do click on our Responses and Gallery tabs - some wonderful words flowed from the event and the photographs give a small window into the experience.
'Basic Meditative Exercises for supporting Self-Transformation'
A short experience at Sophia House as part of a quarterly activity for the Anthroposophical Society in the Western Cape. Activities included observing Blossoming and Decay in Nature, writing poetry, conversation and a heart-warming deepening through euruthymy.
'The Twelve Senses'
A two hour workshop with the managers of the Butterfly Art Project
It was wonderful working in a very practical way with these young couragous people who work artisitcally and therapeutically with children in the township of Vrygrond. We will be running a three morning workshop with them again at the end of September titled 'Inner Stability in Unstable Times'. We will take some photos to share ... in the meantime click on this link to read more about this project initiated and carried by Angela Katschke:

Last Public Courses for 2016
'Projective Geometry - An encounter with Infinity'
At the end of September Briar is running condensed Projective Geometry courses Parts 1 & 2 in preparation for a full length Part 3 (moved from end of August to allow for people who could not attend on the weekdays in July).
Parts 1, 2, and 3 will all be offered within one week.
You can slot in at any level you wish,
but you must have done Part 1 to do Part 2, and Part 2 to do Part 3
To begin with Part 1 you do not have to have had
any mathematical/geometry experience before.
"To cultivate vital and active qualities of thought open to receive quite new ideas is the task of Projective Geometry" Olive Wicher

'Ariadne and the Golden Thread'
On the weekend of 21 & 22 October we will be running this Story and Art course at Temenos Retreat in McGregor. Briar tells the story in the evening, the story is deepend in the first part of the morning and Michael leads you through an artisitc process for the rest of the day.
No previous artistic experience necessary.
This weekend is also the Open Gardens weekend in McGregor where residents open their beautiful gardens, largely indigenous, to the public. The show of Spring colour will bless your hearts.
You will have time on Sunday to visit some of these gardens.

And a Peek into the Future...
Next month we will begin planning our programme for 2017. Hopefully by the end of the year we can let you know what it is. We will be doing some travelling, courses with initiatives and some public activities.
Please let us know if you have any requests for us to offer any of our past courses at a venue of your choice, or for your initiative. Also, you are welcome to ask us to do a 'custom made' course together with you to suit your needs, in line with our KalloSophia Vision.
We look forward to hearing from you.
