We have left behind us the long sun drenched beaches, luscious forests, gardens that lured us into their secrets, so many heart-filled connections, and profound sharings of the our summer journey to the eastern realms of our country and to Cape Town.
We now embark upon a cooler path, rich in its own way with quieter moments of explorations ... journeying into the intriguing and fascinatiing Greek Mysteries. Our new Story and Art experience, Mythos and Logos, will be held in McGregor at Temenos Retreat and our new home and KalloSophia venue, Acacia Grove. It will lead us into the very heart of ourselves.
We warmly invite you to join us in The Well at Temenos Retreat on Friday Evening 8 June 2018 to hear about the background of
Greek Mythology, be introduced to the gods Apollo and Dionysos, both very
active in the Oracle and Mystery Centre of Delphi; and the story of Orpheus and
Euridice, all embedded in the Greek Mysteries.
They were called Mystery Centres
because those who entered them underwent a path of inner development leading to
spiritual experiences separate from everyday life. The knowledge, insight
and understanding gained from these experiences served and enriched the social
and cultural life of the ancient Greeks, and still resonate for us today.
On the Saturday you will be guided to
choose images from the story, which speak to you personally, and to explore
them in charcoal and pastels. (No previous art experience needed.) Our aim is
for each of you to find something unique that touches your soul, helping you to
deepen your sense of meaning and purpose in your life... and to have a little
bit of fun!
Sharing this process with others
weaves social magic, and warm friendships develop. We end with a time of
reflection together, and we all leave enriched and en-souled.
